Chris Herlihy celebrated his 1.5yrs as principal of Glen Taylor School. Chris was born in Hamilton and with his family moved to America to follow his father who was a softball pitcher coach. In his teens, the family moved back to Auckland where Chris’ ability and prowess as a table tennis player blossomed. He represented the NZ national team at 15yrs and spent three months coaching, studying in Japan and was ranked 5th in the Worlds Junior tennis ranking. Once again, Chris was selected to represent New Zealand in the doubles for the Sydney Olympics 2000, but due to technical draws the New Zealand team did not qualify. Chris chose to be a teacher and gave up a lucrative contract to play in Iceland. Thank you Chris for making that decision.
