What a team from St Johns. We were so fast and efficient that we completed all tasks ahead of schedule. There were many of us giving our Saturday morning packing, folding and unwrapping from t-shirts to shorts and babywear. Thank you to Penny for the delicious home baked muffins which all of us enjoyed at morning tea.

There are lots of planning and packing that goes towards having one box ready with all the essentials to make up the blue Emergency Response Kit (ERK) kit box. Every year, Rotary NZ dispatches hundreds of the ERK boxes to countries in the South Pacific affected by disasters. The contents and average freight component for each kit costs around $600.00. The Rotary NZ World Community Service Ltd (RNZWCS) is responsible for the coordination of clubs to assist with packing of ERKs and all donations for the Emergency Response Kits are tax deductible.

So the next time, our Club gets a chance, don’t forget to put your name down.
