Philip Fry
New Zealand Army in WW1 regarding events at a French village - LE QUESNOY
Philip ( Phil) Fry is an active member of the Orakei RSA . He is also a member of The Auckland  Officers‘ Club, the New Zealand Military Historical Society, and the Sporting Shooters Association of New Zealand. He is 84 years of age , and he arrived in Auckland from England at the end of 1961.
FROM 1958 T0 1960, he was one of the last members of the British compulsory two years National Service military system. Phil served two years with a front line Royal Artillery regiment , in Hong Kong , as part of the 48 Gurkha Infantry Brigade Group,  based on the border with China.
 
Phil has maintained particular interest in the WW2 events in Hong Kong and Singapore. 
The selected subject for this meeting is to discuss one of the last actions by the New Zealand Army in WW1, and events today at a French village - LE QUESNOY (pronounced Ler Kay nwah) .
