Rebuilding connections with youth in the community post-Covid

Sgt Rhys SMITH, known as Blocker is married with three children, and lives nearby in St Johns Park. 

Joined the police in 1999 and was based in Auckland Central for 10 years doing frontline duties, Communications, Investigations and Intelligence

Promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and posted to the Auckland Eastern Area where he has worked at Mt Wellington, Sylvia Park, Onehunga, Newmarket and Glen Innes

Currently the Youth Services Supervisor based at Glen Innes, where he manages Youth Aid, Youth Action Team and Youth Engagement team.

He loves beer, V8 Supercars and donuts.
