Have Your Say 2019 -2020

For the first meeting of the new Rotary year, President Robyn took the opportunity to have a “discussion” with members and invited all present to complete a Member Survey.  Discussion points and feedback were recorded by Membership Director, Donald.  Directors will use this valuable information moving forward this year.  If you missed the survey, this has been emailed to all members separately.  For the meeting notes, please click READ MORE.
Small Acts – Big Impact
Rotary Club of St Johns
Have Your Say for 2019 – 2020

What is our primary objective?
  • Raise funds to support local community
  • Having fun doing good in the ‘hood
  • Having fun making a difference locally & internationally
  • Community support & development through identifying targeted projects
  • Engaging with community to identify & address opportunities for development

Are we meeting these objectives?
  • Not enough internal fun
  • Poor attendance relative to numbers in club
  • 2 speed club – morning vs evening
  • Not getting most from members
  • Yes – need a big project to involve all members
  • Yes – we have great reach at District level
  • Yes – don’t promote ourselves enough (RC Remuera uses ads on big screen at Remuera NW
  • Yes – opportunity to learn & grow

What needs to change?
  • Need a community project involving everyone
  • Great to have a project which is ongoing – monthly?
  • Maybe need a “social” objective
  • Maybe change management structure to “Project Directors
  • Not enough community engagement – do we really know what it wants?
  • Need greater local press exposure – maybe they know what the community needs?
  • Stronger mentoring program maintaining ongoing contact with members
  • Fireside Chats” should restart
  • More personal profiles and snap chats
  • Club Runner training session

Thought of the Day
